Somewhere To Land — Introducing the Flying Fries Airport Pack
For months, I've been dropping hints here and there about "that airport pack project" on Discord, teasing something without ever saying what it actually was. No screenshots. No names. No details. Just a vague "it's coming, it'll be fun, trust me." Which, honestly, is a terrible way to build hype and I fully acknowledge that. But also, I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted at that point. It was just the beginning of an idea that sparked in my mind, and I knew it was one of those rare good ideas that only needed a bit more time to mature before I could start working on it.
But now, it has matured.
The problem with Flying Fries aircraft
If you own any of our planes — the Scrapyard Monster, the XF-11, the Gabriel 160-TR, or the Quasar — you already know they're fully equipped for serious flying. Proper avionics, proper nav. You can fly procedures. You can queue behind A320s at major hubs if that's your thing.
But let's be honest: that's not really why you bought them.

Flying Fries aircraft are built for people who want more than that. More fun, more chaos, more "let's see what happens if I land this thing on a beach." The community around these planes shares that same energy.
And right now, MSFS doesn't have nearly enough dedicated spaces for that kind of flying — specific locations designed around the way we ACTUALLY play.
That gap is what this pack is trying to fill.
Six airports. Six continents. One ridiculous amount of hidden stuff.
The plan — and I want to be clear, this is still early pre-production, so "plan" is doing some heavy lifting here — is to build six airports, one on each continent (depending on how you count them, and I'm not getting into that debate):
North America — USA · South America — Tierra del Fuego · Europe — France, "for sure"· Asia — Japan · Africa — Lesotho · Oceania — Australia
But calling them "airports" would be underselling it to a criminal degree. Think of each one as a huge fair that happens to have runways.

Each location will have, at minimum:
- A dirt strip with STOL markings — for when you and your friends want to settle the takeoff and landing debate once and for all.
- A long asphalt runway — because the Quasar deserves a proper welcome after racing across an ocean.
- An air race track, complete with flags and gates, built for the Gabriel 420-MO (no lap counters, sorry!)
- Two or three dirt paths to absolutely destroy the Project Crosskart or the Juice Goose on.
- And approximately one million hidden things to find — Because, if I managed to squeeze about fifteen secrets into the Quasar's cockpit, imagine what's possible at this scale!
What these places will actually look like
We're not talking default MSFS assets slapped onto a field. Every terminal will be custom-built, rooted in its local environment, and absolutely unhinged in the best possible Flying Fries way. Control towers with personality. Hangars that open when you hit your NAV lights. Campfires at night, because yes, people gather around them when the sun goes down.
There will be animals. There will be gliders and parachutists drifting lazily overhead. There will be animated smoke and flags we built ourselves. There will be life.
And then there are the hero assets. A monumental bronze sculpture of Howard Hughes. A hologram of K.A.R.A. The Steiny's Technical Research Center. Every control tower will have a unique and distinctive look. One will even have a helipad on top. Strong enough to handle the MI-24P when it eventually shows up.

A project built with others
Here's the part I'm genuinely most excited about.
I want this pack to be a collaboration. My goal is to bring in a small number of friend developers and artists. People with the time, the will, and the creative energy to make their location truly theirs. Different vibe. Different soul. Same level of absurd attention to detail.
I can't give you names yet because I haven't actually asked anyone. But that's the vision. Six playgrounds, each with its own identity, each shaped by someone who cared enough to hide the things that don't need to be there.
When, how, and all the boring stuff
This is a side project running alongside the Hind throughout 2026. It will release when it's ready!
It will be payware, available on the FS2024 Marketplace and Flightsim.to (at the very least), for PC and Consoles. Not for FS2020 unfortunately!
Fair warning: at this moment (when I write these lines), the product page is not available yet. But there isn't much to see anyway. The real, live, updates will come elsewhere: Discord and Facebook!
Because YES! From here on, the doors are open. That's how Flying Fries has always worked — we don't develop in secret (except for the Quasar, but that was an exception, not the norm). We develop out loud. Every sketch, every bad idea, every unexpected detour will be shared as it happens. The best place to follow all of it is the Flying Fries Discord. And more than that, you can share your wishes, make suggestions and you have a good chance of being heard!
