MI-24P Hind
The Flying Tank
The Mi-24 Hind is a Russian-made heavy attack and troop transport helicopter that has been in production since 1969. Over the decades, many variants have been produced. More than 2,600 Hinds have been built and exported to 58 countries. Most of these were delivered to Eastern Europe, South Asia, and Africa, but some were also delivered to the United States for training purposes.
The Hind is a heavy vehicle. The "P" variant (for "Pushka", meaning "gun") has an MTOW of 11.5 tons (25,353 lbs) and is extremely fast, with a cruise speed of 151 KTS and a maximum speed of 173 KTS, thanks to its two 2,225 hp engines.
Choosing to create not just any helicopter, but this legendary Hind, is yet another example of Flying Fries living by our motto:
We choose not to follow the easy way! We want our hangars filled with gems, not variants of the same airframe with roughly the same characteristics, performance, and flight behavior. We want variety and choice, and we want to bring that variety and choice to our customers.
We are not going to rush this Hind. It will take whatever time is needed to make it a great product. Feel free to follow its development on our Discord server or Facebook page. You can even suggest ideas and features, and share your passion with our growing community.
